A particle of mass m is projected vertically upwards with speed V in air that produces
a resistance to motion kv when the particle's speed is v. By using the chain rule and writing
z(double dot)= vv'(z), find an expression for H and deduce that m(V-gT) = kH.

How can you deduce that, with explanation please? I really struggle with the chain rule so any help would be appreciated.

The volume of a cylinder is V = pr^2*h, so the volume of the solid cylinder is:
V = p(15)^2*(135) = 30375p cm^3,

so you are right with the volume of the cylinder.

Now, the four right circular solid cones are identical, so the volume of each cone is the same (30375p/4). This gives:
(1/3)pr^2*h = 30375p/4.

Since h = 2r:
(2/3)pr^3 = 30375p/4
==> r^3 = 91125/8
==> r = 45/2.

Therefore, the four resulting cones each have a radius of 45/2 cm and a height of 2(45/2) = 45 cm.

50 grains = 2.26 grams.
1.844674407 E 19 grains = X grams.

Multiply 1.844674407 E 19 * 2.26. You get 4.16896415982 E 19
Divide by 50, gives 8.33792831964 E 17 grams. That's the final answer.

Converting to kg, just subtract 3 from the exponent. = 8.33792831964 E 14 kilograms
Converting to tonnes (or megagrams), subtrace another 3. = 8.33792831964 E 11 tonnes (or Mg)

In order to figure out how much more a large pizza costs than a small pizza, you can simply subtract the price of a small pizza from a large pizza, which will give you the answer of £1.90.

8.40 - 6.50 = 1.90
