You cannot square root a negative number.

if you divide by 0 it is undefined.
3y^2 + 23y + 14 = 0
(-23 ± v361) / 6
(-23 ± 19) / 6
y = -7, -2/3
so if y = -7 or -2/3 then it will be undefined
