Open Question: I need a sawtooth wave generator?

I have none of the circuitry, but I can get it to display the electron beam, all I need is a sawtooth wave synth SCHEMATIC that can put out about 3 volts or so. It needs to have a wide frequency range, but no gates or super complex schematics. Prefferably transistor based, but 555 is ok too.
