Open Question: Does 1 + 1 = 1 (1 raindrop + 1 raindrop = 1 raindrop)?

No. 1 raindrop of a given volume x^3 + 1 raindrop of a given volume y^3 = 1 raindrop of a given volume z^3:

1x^3 + 1y^3 = (x + y)^3 = 1z^3 = z^3

While it may appear that 1 drop plus 1 more drop still yields 1 drop, it yields the new drop at increased volume. So, since we are not really talking about 1 thing + 1 thing = 1 thing, but rather we are talking about some volume + some other volume = some new volume, we do not have 1 + 1 = 1.

ie. 1 cubic inch + 1 cubic inch = 2 cubic inches. ( 1x^3 +1 x^3 = 2x^3)

Hope this answered your question.
