Open Question: easy differentiation question?
I needed to find the derivative (dy/dx) of y = 2^x.
It sounded simple enough but im not sure if I have done it correctly. Could anyone clarify that my method is correct?

if y = 2^x
then ln(y) = x ln(2)
Therefore using the chain rule on the left hand side:
d/dy [ ln(y) ] * dy/dx = ln(2)
(1/y)(dy/dx) = ln(2)
dy/dx = y ln(2)
but y = 2^x
therefore:
dy/dx = 2^x * ln (2)
Am i correct??
