Mars is too small to have molten core or a fluid athenosphere which are needed to have plate tectonics. The volcanoes on Mars, like Olympus Mons, are located over hot spots.

If humans lived on Mars at one time and the past and moved to Earth wouldn't we still be capable of interplanetary travel? How did we kill Mars? Is there any evidence of pollution on the planet? The Earth is not alive, we can not kill something that is not alive.
