Open Question: Highway Geometric design?

3:09 Publicado por Anónimo

A crest curve has been designed for 70mi/hr to connect a 2% initial grade and a -1% final grade for a new vehicle that has 3ft drivers eye height and the curve was designed to avoid an object that is 1ft high. Standard practical stopping distance design was used but unlike current design standards, the vehicle was assumed to have comfortable deceleration rate equal to half acceleration due to gravity or friction of .5. Driver reactions are assumed to be the same as current highway design standards. If the PVC of the curve is at 848ft and station at 43+48, what is the station and elevation of the highest point of the curve?
