Open Question: how do i prove tan(x)/cot(x) =tan^2(x)?

There isn't really much to prove here. All you have to do is know the definition of the cot(x) function, which is that

cot(x) = 1/tan(x)

Thus you have:

tan(x)/cot(x) = tan(x)/[1/tan(x)] = tan(x)[tan(x)] = tan^2(x)

Done!
