Open Question: Probability Density function and Normal Distribution Word Problem..Please Help!?
1) A study shows that the age of a randomly selected, alcohol-impaired driver in a fatal crash is a random variable with a probability density function given by
f(x) = 105/4 ^ 2 for all x in {15,35}
a) Find the probability that one of these drivers is less than 25 years old.
b) Find the expected age of a drunk driver involved in a fatal crash.
c) Find the standard deviation.
d) Find the median age.
2)A soil supplement is supposed to help sunflowers grow to over 8 feet tall. At the peak of the season, samples of sunflowers are measured in batches of 500. On average, 72% of the sunflowers are indeed over 8 ft. tall. Find the probability that in the next batch tested, at least 380 will be over 8 ft. tall. The high of the plants follow a normal distribution.
