x = ( -4 - sqrt 21)
x = ( -4 - sqrt 21)
x = [ -b + or - sqrt (b^2 - 4ac)] /2a
a = 1, b = 8 , c = -5
x = [ -8 + or - sqrt(64 + 20) ] / 2
x = [ - 8 + or - 4sqrt (21) ] / 2
thus x = x = ( -4 + sqrt 21) or
x = ( -4 - sqrt 21)
