Open Question: Why do people think that if theres water, there's life?

You lost me on that "extremeophiles" word.

I've always wondered that too. People have a stereotypical idea of aliens (about 3 foot tall, green, gooey, eyes above head etc). Aliens could look like anything they could be any size, shape and have any body system. There could be aliens that don't need energy or anything at all to live. They could be perpetual creatures. Scientists need to opent their minds and stop comparing where they think there could be life to where humans could live. I'm sure there are organisms on earth that don't require water to live. The majority of Earth's species haven't been discovered and they are the ones that live in more unhabitable areas where humans haven't explored. These are the areas where organisms vary the most to 'normal'. In the deep oceans, bioluminescent creatures, unsqaushable jellyfish, creatures with see through skulls etc have all been discovered in the ocean. There are animals on Earth that have adapted to ter surroundings, therefore there are animals almost everywhere.

Scientists never thought that anything existed at the bottom of the oceans; how wrong where they! Animals can adapt and survive in any environment.
