Open Question: I fire a cannon with muzzle velocity 120m/s at an angle of 45 degrees. (Projectile Motion)?

Since it is at a 45 degree angle, the horizontal and vertical components of vel are equal, so vx=vy=120/sqrt(2)

now plug it in h0=h+vit+.5at^2

0=-(120/sqrt(2))t-4.9t^2 and solve for t

t ends up being 120/(sqrt(2)*4.9) (plug it in a calc to find the actual number)

just multiply this number by the hx velocity, and you will get 120/4.9! (or close to 24 meters)
