basically, the theory i prefer is that there were two groups of these sapiens -> one group invented the tools that we are all so familiar with, and the other form continued to live as, well, monkeys do today.

As time passed on, the "inventors" group eventually developed, and became what we know as humans today. The other group remained as monkeys, and, well, remain as monkeys today.

I apologize if this looks like a wild guess, and is not very concise, but i remembered seeing this somewhere, but couldn't remember any of the specifics.

If this is for a school report, I wouldn't take my complete word for it..... :(
