Open Question: what types of stars have the shortest lifespans?
Blue Giant
Giants have short lifespans. Their core pressures are extreme and thus fuse a lot of their fuel quickly. Blue means hot and the hotter a star is the more fuel you know it is burning. Blue giant lifespans are measured in millions of years instead of the billions of years our Sun will live for.
The longest living stars are red dwarfs. They are small and burn cool. Our universe is too young to have seen the death of a red dwarf yet.
