Open Question: Trig problems need explaining!?

Open Question: Trig problems need explaining!?

I have the answers, so I don't need these solved I just need to know how they got the answers because the book doesn't explain it clearly.

Give exact real number value of y
1. y = sin^-1 0

2. y = arctan (squareroot 3/3)

find exact value

3.cos [arcsin(-1/2)]

solve for all values in the interval [0,2pi)

4. 2 sin angle + squareroot 3 = 0

This problem is on a worksheet my class has to do, and I can't figure it out. I can do these types of problems normally, but the piecewise part is what's screwing me up.

A rocket is launched with an initial velocity of zero, and with acceleration in feet per second per second defined by:
a(t)={20e^(-t/2), for 0=t=10 seconds
{-16, for t>10 seconds

a. At what time does the rocket begin to descend?
b. How high does the rocket reach?
c. What is the velocity when the rocket impacts the earth?

Open Question: Acceleration due to gravity on Moon is 1/6th that of Earth...?

Open Question: Acceleration due to gravity on Moon is 1/6th that of Earth...?

Acceleration due to gravity on Moon is 1/6th that of Earth. Earth is about 80 times more massive than the moon. Estimate the radius of Earth to that of the Moon.

I've tried to solve this but I just can't seem to get it.
Explanations would be very helpful.
Many thanks.

Open Question: What is the gravitational field of Venus?
Open Question: G(x)=px^2+5+x^2+qx-18 divided by (x+2)?

Open Question: G(x)=px^2+5+x^2+qx-18 divided by (x+2)?

Rewrite G(x) as:

G(x) = px² + qx + x² + 5 - 18
= (p + 1)x² + qx - 13

Then, using synthetic division, we have:

-2 | (p + 1) . . . . + q . . . . . . . . . . . .- 13
. . . . . . . . . - 2(p + 1). . . . . . -2[-2(p + 1) + q]
. . .(p + 1) . - 2(p + 1) + q . . . -2[-2(p + 1) + q] - 13

So the quotient is:

(p + 1)x - 2(p + 1) + q
= px + x - 2p - 2 + q

The remainder is:

-2[-2(p + 1) + q] - 13
= 4(p + 1) - 2q - 13
= 4p + 4 - 2q - 13
= 4p - 2q - 9

I hope this helps!

Open Question: i got d molecular formula, how to find empirical formula?

Open Question: i got d molecular formula, how to find empirical formula?

The empirical formula is just the simplest whole number ratio the molecular formula can be reduced to. For example C6H12 as a molecular formula can be reduced to CH2 as empirical by dividing both 6 and 12 by the lowest common factor which is 6.

Another example:

CH3-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH2-CH… is C10H22, that can be reduced to C5H11 by dividing by 2.

Enjoy

Open Question: Volt regulator, Mosfet, and 3-lead Diode look alike, how to tell difference?

Open Question: Volt regulator, Mosfet, and 3-lead Diode look alike, how to tell difference?

Only thing you can do is read the part number on the package and get the datasheet for that part number.

there is no physical way of differentiating them aside from the part number.

It's theoretically possible to differentiate them electrically by applying voltages and measuring voltages and currents, but the number of possibilities is so huge, it would take you years to test just one part.

If the parts are on a PC board with reference designators, such as IC27, you can get the schematics and bills of material for the PC board and look up the part there, but getting that information may well be impossible. Most companies do not give out that info.
