as havent had these insects in 13 years..and now they are everywhere ,making noise..and jumping on my back when go outside..

is this everywhere or is this only in some places? what determines this?

also, even though they have left the ground..will they climb back in the ground at night and eat grass roots? will this cause the grass to brown and die? what can do about this if has already started to do this?
