Open Question: Was there a spirit in my house?

When my brother went in his room to get his blanket there was this big black figure acrossed his bed. There was nothing that could of made a shadow like that in his room. Then when my brother and his friend were about to fall asleep downstairs the lap turned on all by itself. After that they heard footsteps going up the stairs. No one in my house was walking around at that time. I am starting to think that it was my grandpa who passed away back in September because there is no history of anybody who died in my house. Are there any explanations for this? If so, can you tell me what they are? Thanks!Answer Question
