Open Question: "later" or "latter" strength of concrete?

C3S, also known as a-lite, is the compound that contributes to setting and early strength development of concrete. C2S, also known as belite, is the primary compound that contributes to later strength development of concrete. (from:http://www.fhwa.dot.gov/pavement/concrete/pubs/06080/chapt2.cfm)

my professor kept saying "latter strength", i'm not really sure what is correct. should it be really "latter" strength, or "later" strength? and how should it be pronounced correctly?

Open Question: How do I find the X value in a equation like 4LN(4X-2)+4=0 ?

Open Question: How do I find the X value in a equation like 4LN(4X-2)+4=0 ?

4 ln (4x - 2) + 4 = 0

4 ln (4x - 2) = - 4

ln (4x - 2) = - 1

in exponential form...

(4x - 2) = 1/e

4x = 2 + (1/e) = (2e + 1)/e

x = (2e + 1)/(4e)

Open Question: properties of wave through slinky and ripple tank?

Open Question: properties of wave through slinky and ripple tank?

In my physics notes it mentioned a wave can have following 4 properties;
1.)Reflection
2.)Refraction
3.)Diffraction
4.)Interference

Further it said by using slinky and ripple tank we can observe those properties.
In the book it nicely describes all those properties with a ripple tank. but it only describes 2 properties( reflection and refraction) through a slinky.

*So my question is can we investigate other 2 properties(diffraction and interference) or not through a slinky?

Many thanks :)

I would like to know the temperature at different depths here in Ohio. I heard somewhere the temperature is the same underground year round at a certain depth. I was wondering what the temperature is just 1 foot down and 2 feet and 3 feet. Anyone know where I would find such info? Thank you much.Answer Question
