Open Question: Expand and simplify the given polynomials?

Open Question: Expand and simplify the given polynomials?

Think of it as being:
x(x^2+x+3) - 3(x^2+x+3)
so then it is more simple

x(x^2+x+3) - 3(x^2+x+3)
= x^3 + x^2 + 3x - 3x^2 -3x - 9

Then group like terms:
x^3 + x^2 + 3x - 3x^2 -3x - 9
= x^3 + (1-3)x^2 + (3-3)x - 9
= x^3 - 2x^2 +0x - 9
= x^3 - 2x^2 - 9

And you're done!

Open Question: A voltaic cell consists of Mn/Mn2+ and Pb/Pb2+ half cells. Calculate the concentration of Pb2+ given......?

A voltaic cell consists of Mn/Mn2+ and Pb/Pb2+ half cells. Calculate the concentration of Pb2+ when the concentration of Mn2+ is 1 M and Ecell is 0.44V.

Please help. I believe you use the equation Ecell = standard-Ecell - ( 0.0592V / n) (log Q), but I cannot get the right answer.

Open Question: Calculus: Find an equation of the tangent line to the curve at the given point?

Open Question: Calculus: Find an equation of the tangent line to the curve at the given point?

f(x) = (1 + 2x)¹° so f '(x) = 10(1 + 2x)? •2 = 20(1 + 2x)?

Since the point is (0,1) the slope at that point is f '(0) = 20(1)? = 20

So using the point-slope form of the line

y – 1 = 20(x – 0) or y = 20x + 1

Open Question: Find the volume of the solid obtained by rotating the region bounded by the given curves about the x-axis?

Open Question: Find the volume of the solid obtained by rotating the region bounded by the given curves about the x-axis?

Curve y = x² and line y = 4 intersect at (-2, 4) and (2, 4)
So we integrate from x = -2 to x = 2

On this interval, line is above the curve

Each cross section perpendicular to x-axis is shaped like a washer, with
outer radius: R = 4
inner radius: r = x²

We user washer method:

V = p ??2² (R² - r²) dx
V = p ??2² (16 - x4) dx
V = p (16x - x5/5) |?2²
V = p ((32 - 32/5) - (-32 + 32/5))
V = p (64 - 64/5)
V = 256p/5

Open Question: How the hell do you calculate speed when your only given HEIGHT?

Open Question: How the hell do you calculate speed when your only given HEIGHT?

2 ways

Newton

d = 0.5at^2
30m = 0.5 * 9.8 m/s^2 * t^2

4.9 t^2 = 30
t^2 = 6.122
t = 2.47 s

v= at = 9.8 m/s^2 * 2.47 s = 24.25 m/s

Energy

PE = KE

MGH = 0.5MV^2 (cancel M)

GH = 0.5V^2
9.8 * 30 = 0.5 V^2
294 = 0.5V^2
V^2 = 294/.5 = 588
V = 24.25 m/s

No matter how you do it, the answer is always the same. (It would be really bad if it was not!)

Open Question: Given the levels of radiation in Japan's seawater, should we be concerned about fish and seafood globally?

Open Question: Given the levels of radiation in Japan's seawater, should we be concerned about fish and seafood globally?

I would only seafood imported from Japan and nearby waters

Seafood from elsewhere will have harmless levels of radiation. The half life of the radiation is rather short, and will decay to nothing by the time it reaches other fishing waters

Open Question: find the slope of the line containing each given pair of points: (−1,4) and (5,−8?

the slope formula is = (Y1 - Y2)/(X1 - X2)

(-1,4) = (X1, Y1)
(5,-8) = (X2, Y2)

(4 -(-8)/(-1 - 5)
(4 + 8)/-6
12/-6
-2

slope = -2

Hope this Helps!

Are they the same exact pills I would get prescribed from the doctor ? And when should I start taking them when I find out I'm pregnant??Answer Question

Rosie908 by Rosie908 Member since:May 11, 2009Total points:116 (Level 1)Yes you can buy them at CVS, Walgreens, and any pharmacy. Look for them on the iron and vitamin aisle or in the baby supply aisle. Take the prenatal pills as soon as you find out you're pregnant. Make sure to read the directions on the bottle to see how many times a day you should take them, and consult your doctor.

Open Question: How to find the weakest acid if you are given several weak acids??? i.e which is the weakest of all of them ?

I have no problem finding if an acid is strong or weak, however; I'm not sure how to find which acid is the weakest. For example, lets look at the following:

a) (CH3)2NH
b) NH2NH2
c) NH3
d)C8H10N4O2

thank you for helping.
